This day has been specially designed for altitude acclimatization, so no guided activities are scheduled. It is recommended to rest, stay hydrated, and, if you wish, take light walks around the hotel or freely explore the historic center.

Cusco is located at over 3,300 meters above sea level, so taking it easy on the first day will help you better enjoy the activities in the following days.

Departure at 07:30 AM. We will pick you up from your hotel to begin our excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

We will continue to the impressive Maras Salt Mines, a complex of more than 4,500 salt pools exploited since pre-Inca times, offering a unique landscape in the region.

Next, we will visit Moray, a circular terrace complex used by the Incas as an agricultural experimentation center.

After the visits, we will head to Urubamba, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch.

At the scheduled time, we will go to the train station to board the train to the town of Aguas Calientes.

What to bring

  • Small Backpack
Bring a light backpack where you can comfortably carry your essential belongings during the tour.

  • Hat or Cap
The sun in Cusco can be strong, even on cloudy days, so it is important to protect your head.

  • Sunscreen and Sunglasses
Solar radiation at high altitude is intense. Use sunscreen and UV-protection sunglasses to avoid discomfort.

  • Water
Stay hydrated throughout the tour, especially due to the altitude and physical activity.

  • Comfortable Clothing and a Light Jacket
It is recommended to wear light clothing for walking, but also bring a jacket or sweater, as the weather can change quickly.

  • Rain Poncho (November to March)
During the rainy season, light showers are common, so a lightweight rain poncho can be very useful.

  • Cash (Peruvian Soles)
Some entrance fees, small purchases, or tips may only be accepted in cash.

  • Personal Medications
If you are following any treatment or need something specific (such as altitude sickness pills), do not forget to bring it with you.
